Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV personality who is a chef, and a ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark hairstyle and her pumped up appearance, offers the basics of cooking that anyone can master. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She also has studied Italy's culinary tradition and the culture of Italy, and the surrounding geography. Early on, while growing up in New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her when she earned an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communication from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great learning experience. I was unable to learn enough, didn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduating, Burrell spent one year studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. While in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophy of Italian culinary and cultural traditions that made a lasting impression from a culinary viewpoint. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of children who face challenges. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador where she advocates for awareness of juvenile diabetes. She speaks about her cooking passion, and also shares her expertise in the culinary world as she frequently travels throughout the US in both her roles as speakers and mentors. Anne in all her cooking journey, has said that it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to share this passion for life with others.
